University Of Southern California To Generate Data For Cancer Genome
The USC Epigenome Center has been awarded a $10.4 million National cancer Institute grant that is expected to pave the way for more effective treatment and diagnosis for cancer patients. The support for the USC Epigenome Center, which is affiliated with the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Keck school of Medicine of USC, will fund a collaborative effort with Johns Hopkins University to collect epigenomic data from all major types of cancer over the next five years.

I'm a big believer in volunteering at your child's school. I learned so much from hanging out at the school library in my kids' elementary and middle schools, and built up relationships with school personnel that could never have blossomed in the stressful environment of the IEP meeting. I realize, of course, that for many parents, the large school-hour time commitment I made would not be possible. That's no reason to give up on school involvement, though.
