If you thought the summer was a good one for punk tours, you haven?t seen what?s in line for the fall. So far this fall, we?ve seen dates from AFI, Thursday and Youth Brigade, and now we have some dates from the legendary outfit Strung Out. In a year that is seeing more than a few punk rock milestones (25 years for BYO records, 20 for the Bouncing Souls), Strung Out (also celebrating 20) is part of an illustrious group ? but they have every right to be. Strung Out is a band that has paved the way for a lot of great (and not so great) bands, blending punk, hardcore and metal in a way that forged the sounds for, to be honest, too many clones. I love Strung Out, they did the punk-meets-metal sound right. All too many of the bands that the kids are rising into prominence today learned it from these guys, but could also stand to take a few more lessons. Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon has hit out at rumors his famous wife helped him land his job hosting America'S Got Talent - insisting their relationship does not sway potential employers.

Today at noon ET Whitney Houston hit the stage in New york city's Central Park for a free concert for fans and to promote the album I Look To You tomorrow morning on Good Morning America. Among the songs she recorded for broadcast were her current single 'Million Dollar Bill.' There were some obvious problems with her voice, and she even apologized for some of the problems. However, it was quite obvious she still has a strong base of adoring fans. The official video will roll tomorrow morning on Good Morning America, but, as a teaser, as long as the link lasts, check out a clip of the performance below. One of the best bands to come out of the UK in the last 20 years get a warm reaction but the glory days are behind them.

Two of the biggest soundtracks of the fall have hit in successive days. Yesterday it was the full track list for Karen O & The Kids' soundtrack to "Where The Wild Things Are," today it's the various artists involved in Drew Barrymore's directorial debut, "Whip It," a roller derby coming-of-age story starring Ellen Page.
