Sacramento foreclosures climb
Reversing a recent trend, home foreclosures in all four counties of Greater Sacramento increased in November according to figures released Tuesday from ForeclosureRadar, an online service that tracks foreclosed properties. Sacramento County’s foreclosures were up 37 percent from October to 1,115. That’s a rate of one foreclosure for every 1,200 people in the county, the Discovery Bay-based company reported.

First Contact in the Greater Mekong reports that 1,068 species were discovered or newly identified by science between 1997 and 2007 -- which averages two new species a week.
