Enbridge Signs LoI Worth $500 Million With Chevron For WRGS In Gulf Of Mexico
Enbridge Inc. (Enbridge), a company that transports natural gas and crude oil, has signed letters of intent (LoI) with Chevron USA, Inc. for extension of its central Gulf of Mexico offshore pipeline system. As per the LoI, Enbridge will build, own and operate the Walker Ridge gathering system (WRGS) to offer natural gas gathering services to the potential Jack, St. Malo and Big Foot ultra deepwater developments. The WRGS is expected to cost about $500 million.

Colorado oil and gas permits to drop 38%
The number of permits issued to drill new oil and gas wells in Colorado is expected to drop 38 percent this year, from a record of 8,027 permits issued in 2008, according to the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission.

EQT Q2 net income slips
EQT Corp., the former Equitable Resources, on Wednesday reported net income of $26.6 million, or 20 cents per share, in the second quarter of 2009. Taqa buys Dutch oil firm for $404m
A unit of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company?s (Taqa) has announced plans to buy Dutch oil and gas exploration and production firm DSM Energie Holding (DSM Energy) for $404m, it was announced today. Taqa Energy's acquisition includes non-operated interests in pipeline company Noordgastransport, three other pipelines and 20 producing oil and gas fields in the Dutch North Sea. The purchase will give Taqa an additional daily production of around 5,000 barrels of oil equivalent, of which 85% is natural gas. [AMEInfo.com]
