All-American Fiammetta Earns Senior Bowl Invite Syracuse All-American fullback Tony Fiammetta (Walkersville, Md.) is the 43rd Orange football student-athlete to earn All-America honors and is the 52nd Syracuse player to earn an invitation to the Senior Bowl. The 2009 Senior Bowl will be played Saturday, January 24, 2009, in Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Fiammetta, a 2008 Syracuse team captain, was named to the 2008 Pro Football Weekly All-America Team, which annually honors the most talented players in college football and is determined based on considerable feedback from NFL evaluators taking into consideration a player's pure talent and contribution to his team. Syracuse UniversitySyracuse Adds Scrimmage Versus Hofstra/Le Moyne The Orange men's lacrosse team will host a three-way scrimmage at the Carrier Dome on Thursday, Jan. 29 against Hofstra and Le Moyne. The action gets underway at 1:30 p.m. with Hofstra facing off against Le Moyne. Syracuse and Hofstra will play in the second game at 3:30 p.m. and the Orange and Le Moyne wrap up the day with a 5:30 p.m. contest. The scrimmages are the first of two exhibition dates for the Orange leading up to the start of the 2009 regular season.
