Nebraska Offers Low-Cost Radon Test Kits
To make it easier for Nebraskans to test their homes for radon, the Radon Program of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is offering low-cost radon test kits.Governor Dave Heineman has proclaimed January to be Radon Action Month. January is an opportune time for Nebraskans to test for radon in their homes, according to Dr. Joann Schaefer, the state's Chief Medical Officer. During winter, homes are closed up and can trap the toxic gas, causing it to build to dangerous levels.read more

Governor Chet Culver has proclaimed January as 'Radon Action Month' in Iowa. Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas that can cause lung cancer. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates up to 70 percent of Iowa homes have elevated radon levels. While radon gas causes no immediate health symptoms, long-term exposure can cause lung cancer. The EPA estimates 399 Iowans die each year because of radon-related lung cancer. The Iowa Department of public health (IDPH) is urging Iowans to test their homes for radon.read more

UCLA faculty expert advisory: Governor vetoes Democrats` fiscal package
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has vetoed California Democrats' $18 billion deficit-reduction package. Feedzilla is a news aggregator which categorizes news stories by topic. It is a platform where webmasters and bloggers can find an unmatched selection of easy to use, automatically updating and professional news widgets for their sites. Feedzilla supports the building of widgets in various formats, as well as allowing the addition of news widgets to different blogging platforms and social networks.

Feedzilla manually aggregates news summaries found in RSS feeds, and redistributes them in either RSS format or as a news widget. Content is collected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from an ever-growing list of providers.
