Rangers to add replay board in left field
By ANTHONY ANDRO ARLINGTON — Fans in the right field home run porch at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington will have nothing to complain about in 2009.The Rangers are replacing the manual scoreboard in left field with a new replay screen, giving fans in right field a chance to see something they haven’t since the park opened: replays.'People in right field are getting to see a replay for the first time in history,' public address announcer Chuck Morgan said. 'We left Arlington Stadium, where the majority of people could see a replay. That’s been one of the flaws. Those have been great seats.'The new replay screen is just part of approximately $4 million in renovations at the park. The Rangers are also adding LED screens between the foul poles, on the lower home run porch and below the Diamond Club. The replay screen will be 84 feet by 12 feet. Abrams scores 27 to lead No. 5 Texas (AP)
A.J. Abrams scored 27 points and Dexter Pittman added 19 to lead No. 5 Texas to an 88-72 victory over Texas Southern on Tuesday night. Abrams had 16 points in the second half and Pittman added 15 for the Longhorns (9-1), who led 35-34 at halftime. The Tigers (0-9) opened the second half with a fullcourt press, and Pittman capitalized as the center scored 11 points in a 10-minute span.

Jermaine Beal scored 20 points, and Vanderbilt opened the Southeastern Conference/Big East Invitational by beating South Florida 71-52 Tuesday night to hand Commodores coach Kevin Stallings his 300th career victory. Former U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt and his wife have a baby boy to add to the family.Hewitt and former actress Bec Cartwright announced on their Web site Tuesday that Cruz was born in Sydney on Dec. 11.'All are doing well and are very excited about the new addition to the family,' they wrote. It is the second child for the Australian pair following the birth of daughter Mia Rebecca in November 2005.Hewitt, 27, won the U.S. Open in 2001 and Wimbledon in 2002.
