Lecavalier thinks he`ll stay put
Vincent Lecavalier was immediately greeted with questions about recent trade rumors that speculated about the possibility of the Tampa Bay Lightning center making a homecoming with the All-Star host Montreal Canadiens. Lecavalier, who grew up in suburban Montreal, was asked if he expected to finish the season with Tampa Bay. 'I think I will, but in the end, it's not up to me to answer a question like that because it's a bit out of my control,' Lecavalier said. 'A lot of things have been said over the last few weeks. Montreal is a great city and I'm happy to be here for the All-Star break.'

NBA All-Star voting doesn’t make sense
By SCOOTER HENDON Ultimately, the right guys made it into the NBA All-Star Game. For a little while, though, it was looking as if the NBA All-Star voting system would be exposed as a complete sham.Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul are the starting guards in the Western Conference, and deservedly so. Kobe is coming off an MVP year and inarguably is one of the best players in the world.Chris Paul is also having another great season and is hands-down the best point guard in the league. However, if you look at the final results, just behind Paul with 1,678,516 votes is Tracy McGrady. Yes, the same Tracy McGrady who is having his lowest output season in 10 years and also has played in only 28 games. Even more egregious is what also happened in the East.LeBron James and Kevin Garnett received the starts at forward for obvious reasons, but the most interesting part of the vote was the third-place finisher. New Jersey’s Yi Jianlian finished a mere 253,004 votes behind KG. For some perspective,

Ming leaves game with sore knee
Houston center Yao Ming left Friday's game against the Pacers with a sore right knee and did not return to play in the second half. The All-Star missed much of the second quarter while sitting on the bench with an ice pack on the knee. He returned later in the quarter, but did not join his team to start the second half. Yao finished with eight points and five rebounds in 17 minutes. He had averaged 21.8 points and 9.8 rebounds the previous five games while shooting 71 percent from the field. Houston already was short-handed because of injuries to Tracy McGrady and Ron Artest. He is questionable for Sunday's game at Detroit.
