Gooden can`t play against Detroit
Chicago PF Drew Gooden missed Tuesday's game against the Pistons as expected and said Tuesday that he would not return before the All-Star break with a groin injury that has held him out of 10 straight. Gooden also said that he might have a sports hernia that would end up requiring surgery.

Hill running out of gas
The Sports Xchange notes that Phoenix F Grant Hill played in his 50th straight game to open the season, the first time he's been able to do that in almost a decade (with Detroit in 1999-2000). But there wasn't a lot of gas in the tank on back-to-back nights, and he lasted only 20 minutes in Philadelphia and scored six points. Hill had some foul trouble, but energy was more the problem in this one.

Westbrook still playing very well
The Sports Xchange notes that Thunder G Russell Westbrook had his hands full in Sunday's matchup against Beno Udrih. The Kings' playmaker led his team with 29 points on 11-of-14 shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc. Westbrook didn't match that scoring output, but did put together a solid game with 11 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and two steals.
