Kings Top Wild In Shootout
Drew Doughty made up for a costly giveaway by scoring the game-winner in the shootout as the Los Angeles Kings clipped the Minnesota Wild, 2-1, at Xcel Energy Center.

Backstrom edged out in shootout
Drew Doughty scored the deciding shootout goal pastNiklas Backstrom and the Los Angeles Kings beat the Minnesota Wild 2-1 on Tuesday night. The shootout was tied 1-1 after three rounds and Doughty scored the winner on the Kings' fourth shot before goalie Jonathan Quick denied Brent Burns, the Wild's final shooter, to seal the win. Jack Johnson was credited with the Kings' only goal in regulation to tie the game at 1 14:55 into the second, but it was actually Minnesota's Kim Johnsson who put the puck in the net. After a scrum in front, Johnsson mistakenly poked the puck past Backstrom, who made 24 saves in the shootout loss.

Quick outlasts Wild in shootout
Kings G Jonathan Quick allowed just a shootout goal to Antti Miettinen among four skaters and stopped 23 shots during a 2-1 win Tuesday. Drew Doughty scored the go-ahead shootout goal in the fourth round before Quick stopped Brent Burns to seal the win. Miettinen also got the Wild's lone regulation goal, short-handed 5:48 into the second. Quick has won two of his last three starts.

Brunette returns from two-game absence
Wild LW Andrew Brunette returned to the lineup Tuesday against the Kings after missing two games with a lower-body injury. He didn't record a point in 16:58 of ice time and finished at even. He also spent two minutes in the penalty box.
