Sim takes lead away from Every after third round of Stonebrae Classic
HAYWARD, Calif. -- Michael Sim rolled in a 10-foot birdie putt on the final hole Saturday to take the third-round lead at the Stonebrae Classic at TPC San Francisco Bay. Sim, a 24-year-old Australian, posted a 4-under 67 to finish at 11-under 202, one shot better than halfway leader Matt Every (71).

Baltimore SP Alfredo Simon finished off his spring season on Saturday against the Nationals, throwing 4.2 innings and allowing four earned runs with three walks and a strikeout. He finished off the spring season with a 2.61 ERA.

Anibal Sanchez finished his first healthy spring training in three years on a strong note.Sanchez threw three scoreless innings as the Florida Marlins tied the Toronto Blue Jays 1-1 in their final Grapefruit League game. Florida's No. 4 starter allowed two hits, struck out one and walked one.Sanchez, who threw a no-hitter as a rookie in 2006, made his 2008 debut on July 31 after recovering from right shoulder surgery. He went 2-5 with a 5.57 ERA.

Prince takes nasty spill
Detroit's Tayshaun Prince took a nasty fall after being fouled by Philadelphia's Theo Ratliff late in the game Saturday. Prince went high for a layup, and was met with Ratliff under the basket. Prince was hit hard and remained on the floor for several minutes, attended to by Pistons medical personnel. He had 10 points and finished the game.
