Toronto Blue Jays Inside Pitch
The Blue Jays were back hitting the long ball on Friday night as they belted three against the Royals in a 9-3 win. About a month ago, after 30 games, the Blue Jays were 20-10, averaging 6.3 runs a game, having pounded out 40 home runs. But now, in their past 27 games, the Jays have gone 11-16, with just 19 homers in that segment. The home runs are not spread out either. Aaron Hill and Alex Rios are tied having each hit five homers over the past 26 games.

The right-hander pitched a three-hitter for his fifth career shutout and Mark DeRosa hit a three-run homer, leading the Cleveland Indians to a 6-0 win over the Chicago White Sox on Friday night. Pavano (6-4) handled the White Sox lineup with relative ease in his first shutout since May 17, 2005, for the Yankees.
