It's been a busy day for me here with the draft and all, but the minor leagues go on. Iowa Cubs The I-Cubs stopped the Round Rock Express, 5-3. Jeff Samardzija was strong for six innings, allowing only two runs, one of which was unearned. The Shark allowed five hits and didn't walk anyone. He had three strikeouts. Blake Parker had his seventh save of the year for Iowa. (He had three for the Smokies) Parker pitched a perfect ninth inning, striking out two. Nate Spears had two doubles in a 2 for 3 afternoon. Spears crossed home once and had two RBI. He also stole a base. Second baseman Luis Rivas was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored.
