--OF Jacoby Ellsbury was out of the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Yankees after bruising the AC joint in his right shoulder during a slide in Sunday afternoon's loss. Mark Kotsay took Ellsbury's place in center field, and the injury was clearly a case of bad timing. Ellsbury has hit safely in seven consecutive games against New York, and he has stolen bases in five straight games against the Yanks. 'He's a little sore. He got examined (Monday).

Steelers get Super Bowl rings
The Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten their Super Bowl rings, four months after beating the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 for the franchise's record sixth championship. The rings were presented at a private ceremony Tuesday night at Heinz Field. The ring's design was kept confidential until then. Each player got a ring with his name and number on it. On Monday, coach Mike Tomlin said he was excited about getting his ring, but that it will mark the end of the 2008 season.

DeRosa's slam off reliever Jamey Wright led Cleveland to an 8-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals in a matchup of the two worst teams in the division. The Indians scored four runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings to move a half-game ahead of the Royals, who have lost 10 of their last 11 and 22 of their last 28.

Rookie Brad Bergesen pitched eight innings of five-hit ball, Nolan Reimold homered and had two RBIs, and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Seattle Mariners 3-1 on Tuesday night to end a five-game losing streak. Making his 10th start since being recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on April 21, Bergesen (3-2) set career marks for fewest runs allowed and most strikeouts (six). The right-hander issue a walk and allowed only one runner past first base.
