Braves 10, Brewers 2
Derek Lowe began waving emphatically as soon as he saw where Jason Kendall's shot was going. Lowe's gestures to Nate McLouth were meaningless, but the center fielder made the play all the same. Casey Kotchman hit a three-run homer and McLouth made a pair of great catches in the sixth when Lowe began to tire, lifting the surging Atlanta Braves to a 10-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. 'I was waving him over there, I had the perfect angle of it,' Lowe said.

Braves blow out Brewers
Casey Kotchman hit a three-run homer and Nate McLouth made a pair of great catches in center when starter Derek Lowe began to tire, lifting the surging Atlanta Braves to a 10-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. Kotchman's deep drive to right off Braden Looper in the sixth was the difference for Atlanta, which has won eight of 11 since the All-Star break.

Marshall to report on Monday
Denver WR Brandon Marshall is still providing plenty of drama in Denver. He insisted that owner Pat Bowlen told him in a private meeting that he would honor his trade request, but new coach Josh McDaniels isn't about to let a second superstar force his way out of town before he's even coached his first game. So, Marshall has said he'll report to Broncos headquarters on Monday along with the other players coming off injuries rather than risk a nearly $16,000 daily fine for skipping training camp workouts. This will be his first chance to practice under the team's new coaching staff. Hanging over Marshall's head, however, is an Aug. 13 trial date in Atlanta on a misdemeanor battery charge. A conviction could expose him to a sus

Schierholtz gets a rest
- Right fielder Nate Schierholtz got a day off Sunday. The deep, colorful and ugly bruise that he sports on his left leg from a losing battle with the outfield fence in Atlanta was very sore. Clearly, though, the Giants cannot afford to sit Schierholtz too...
