Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett teams up with T.O. on live Web site
By CLARENCE E. HILL JR. SAN ANTONIO — If you haven’t seen and heard enough from Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett during a controversy-filled off-season thanks to his MartyBTV channel, then he’s got a daily fix for you.Bennett will broadcast live daily from his training camp hotel room via ustream.com, a live video streaming platform.Bennett, who began broadcasting Wednesday, said he will usually start around 11 p.m. and stay on for about 30 minutes, chatting with fans on Twitter, answering questions and just hanging out in his room at the Grand Hyatt.Bennett is not alone. Formers Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens has been broadcasting live on ustream.com from the Buffalo Bills camp and wide receiver Chad Ochocinco does it from the Cincinnati Bengals camp.Bennett said he and Owens chatted on each other’s ustream channel Wednesday and planned to do it again.'Me and T.O. were on there,' Bennett said. Tony Romo’s head hurts, but he might have it on straight
JIM REEVES SAN ANTONIO — The receding solitary figure on the back of the golf cart lowered his head into his hand and massaged his temples, as if he might be suffering from the worst migraine in the world.Maybe he is.Never has Tony Romo looked quite so lonely. He’d just finished spending 20 minutes with a couple dozen microphones crammed in front of his face, answering questions for a horde of reporters while sitting on the back of that same golf cart after the Cowboys’ second practice of training camp. Now media relations director Rich Dalrymple was doubling as getaway driver as they escaped from the maddening crowd. For just a moment, Romo let down his guard and showed his weariness, putting his head in his hand. No need to feel sorry for him, but he is allowed to be human. It’s easy to forget that Romo is beginning just his third year as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback and that he’s still only 29. Wasn’t it just yesterday that he was being

Minaya apologizes to reporter, writer accepts
Mets general manager Omar Minaya apologized to a beat reporter for questioning his motives and credibility during a bizarre news conference. The writer accepted, saying the GM's 'remorse was sincere.' Minaya said Thursday he had a good meeting with New York Daily News reporter Adam Rubin a day earlier. But the GM didn't retract his remarks when asked repeatedly if he stood by his critical comments Monday while announcing the firing of executive Tony Bernazard.

Cowboys dig in on Day 2 of training camp
TRACEY MYERS Marion Barber was apparently waiting for this day. At least that?s what he told coach Wade Phillips. The pads were on and the hits were coming with them. And Barber was just fine with that.?He said, ?Don?t tell those guys not to hit me. because I?m going to hit them,?? Phillips said of his marquee back. ?His attitude is like it?s always been.?The Cowboys completed Day 2 of training camp today, and it was a day of hits, good rushes and a media throng around Tony Romo that seemed to rival the fan attendance numbers. For Phillips, who said everyone was in good physical shape save one overweight rookie, Day 2 was fine.?I thought we were rusty,? Phillips said. ?You always expect them to come out and play, but that?s why they do need to practice. We were rusty in some areas.?Meanwhile, Romo was answering questions, from getting back after a hectic offseason to leadership to deflecting criticism.?I learned a long time ago it?s not an enjoyable game if you don?t enjoy it yourself w

MAILBAG: Kinsler still the man atop the lineup
JEFF WILSON The most passionate questions to the Rangers Mailbag continue to surround Ian Kinsler and the leadoff spot. The second baseman has quickly become the target of ire since Chris Davis was demoted to Triple A earlier this month. The following came from Matt in Fort Worth: ?How much hell do the natives have to raise in order to get Kinsler out of the leadoff spot? In five at-bats Sunday, he saw 11 pitches. David Murphy saw 26 in one less at-bat. The solution is right in manager Ron Washington?s face, yet he refuses to change. This is what gets managers fired.?Bob in Murphy took exception to last week?s edition of the Kinsler-featured Mailbag and calls moving him out of the top spot ?an absolute layup.?It?s not a layup, and Washington isn?t getting fired because of the way he sticks with Kinsler.Bob, unlike the Mailbag, believes the rest of the lineup might start hitting consistently with Murphy and Michael Young in the top two spots.Kinsler?s base running won?t be missed becaus

Romo ready for training camp
Cowboys QB Tony Romo addressed the media Thursday and feels confident heading into training camp. He doesn't have Terrell Owens any more and has to prove he can lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl run, but he's ready for the season and to answer any questions. 'It feels about the same, it's always a high level of optimism and intensity and energy,' Romo said. 'You know what to expect when you've been here a few times, and it's exciting, and its training camp, and its time to get going.' Romo said he feels more prepared as a QB entering his third season as a starter. 'I think as you play the position, and as you get older, you slowly understand things, and it's like anybody who does something over the course of time, you gain a little more understanding every year that goes by,' he said. Romo also said he's not worried about Owens being gone or any other distractions. 'For us it's about going forward and improving this year,' he said. 'It's about today, it's not about our first game, its n
