Dell picks Tata's Infiniti to retail PCs in India
Dell has signed up Infiniti Retail, a subsidiary of India's Tata Group, to sell its laptops and desktop computers. Starting in April, Infiniti will offer these products through its Croma consumer electronics and durables stores in India.

Dell ties up with Indian retailer
NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Dell Inc , the world's No. 2 maker of personal computers, said on Tuesday it had tied up with Indian retailer Infinity Retail to sell its laptops and desktops through the Croma chain of stores from April.

FBI Looks Into Chinese Role in Darfur Site Hack
Amy Bennett writes 'This past weekend we discussed an increasing level of attacks online, targeting Tibetan-based NGOs. Now the BBC is reporting that the Save Darfur Coalition has called in the FBI on what appears to be a similar matter. Allyn Brooks-LaSure, a spokesman with the group, doesn't know who is behind the attacks, but he said the IP addresses of the computers that had hacked his organization were from China. Save Darfur has been trying to get China, one of Sudan's largest trading partners, to pressure Sudan's government into stopping the mass killings in Darfur's ongoing civil war. 'Someone in Beijing is trying to send us a message,' Brooks-LaSure said. Probably the same message they're sending by continuing to shut down video sites covering the Tibetan unrest.' of this story at Slashdot.

Don't open that Word file attached to your e-mail; it might contain malware. And don't click on that e-mail or Web site links from strangers. Heck, don't even open Word e-mail attachments from trusted sources unless you're expecting them. Attackers are embedding malware in Word documents that causes a buffer overflow in their victims' computers, letting them take over the computers.

Sun Researching Super Fast Laser Processors
As computers chip continue to decrease in fabrication size, manufacturers such as AMD and Intel are researching new ways to overcome physical barriers. Die size, performance, operating frequency and heat are all major obstacles in the semiconductor industry. Sun Microsystems announced that in partnership with Luxtera, Kotura and Stanford University, it is working on an ambitions project to move data transmissions from electrical signals over copper wires to pulses of light using lasers.
