`Flesh-eating robot` is actually a vegetarian, say inventors
It sounded like something pulled straight from a grisly scene in Terminator: an unstoppable military robot that powered itself by devouring everything in its path - including trees, grass and even, according to reports, dead bodies. But after a string of headlines that labelled the machine a 'corpse eater' and 'creepy', the robot's creators have gone on a PR offensive to extinguish the rumour that their invention will feed on human or animal flesh. The machine's inventors say that the Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot - known as Eatr for short - does indeed power its 'biomass engine' by digesting organic material, but that it is not intended to chomp its way through battlefields of fallen soldiers.'We completely understand the public's concern about futuristic robots feeding on the human population, but that is not our mission,' said Harry Schoell, the chief executive of Cyclone Power Technologies, one of the companies behind the machine.'We are focused on demonstrating that our en

Rumor Mill Puts Cameras in Next iPods
If the rumors are to be believed, Apple will be releasing an overhauled version of the popular iPod digital music player that will include basic digital camera and digital video capabilities. Such a move from Apple wouldn't be a huge surprise; after all, Apple's iphone now has basic digital imaging capabilities, similar to many cell phones. With more cell phones including digital music playing capabilities, Apple needs to add features to the next generation of the iPod to set it apart. Obviously, such basic imaging technologies won't appeal to those desiring serious photography equipment. But, for a quick snapshot that someone wants to share on the Web, an iPod digital camera should do the trick. The rumors only discuss the likelihood of changes to the iPod; the rumors do not specify a particular date that the new iPods may appear in the market.
