It added 291,000 Sky+ HD subscribers in the three months to end-June to reach 1.31 million. The 3D channel will offer programming including films, entertainment and sports. The service will be broadcast across Sky's existing HD infrastructure and be available via the current generation of Sky+HD set-top boxes. To watch 3D, customers will also require a new '3D Ready' TV, which are expected to be on sale in the UK in 2010. Sky has also confirmed the launch of a 'pull' video-on-demand service in 2010 to provide Sky+ HD customers with extra choice and control to complement Sky+ and the existing Sky Anytime 'push' VoD service. This new service will use the broadband capability of existing Sky+HD boxes. Speaking at a press conference on the 3G launch, Assistant General Manager Lale Saral Develioglu said Turkcell received 1 million preliminary applications for its 3G services. The operator's 3G technology already covers approximately 60 percent of the population. One of the new 3G products is the Turkcell 3G modem Vinn which enables internet access at ADSL speeds and is offered to customers who buy the 4GB internet package for a monthly subscription of TRY 39. Turkcell offers the 4GB internet package for a TRY 19 monthly subscription for the first three months. Other available 3G products and services from Turkcell include 3G handsets such as the Gozz, 3G embedded notebooks and netbooks, Turkcell Mobil TV, Speaking Poster, Video Find and My Video Facebook.
