Google Voice Offered to U.S. Military Service Members
Google offers Google Voice to U.S. military service members to help them connect with family and friends while overseas in Iraq. Service members can conduct their business during the day and check voicemail messages at night from any Web-enabled device with a browser, helping them stay connected back home. Mobile text-to-speech startup Spinvox will demo its technology to sceptical journalists, but I should have left my Flip at home - no filming allowedEmbattled mobile speech-to-text company Spinvox will demonstrate its technology to journalists in the latest effort to counter allegations that it relies heavily on call centres. As Charles wrote over on the Technology blog, Spinvox tried to put the allegations to rest with a post on its blog. It was a rebuttal to the BBC's allegations that the speech-to-text service was using humans to do the conversion, and that some of the data involved was being transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA) - which would breach the Data Protection Act for any British calls.But the accusations continue to rumble, not just from sceptics of the technology but also from unpaid contractors. Feedzilla is a news aggregator which categorizes news stories by topic. It is a platform where webmasters and bloggers can find an unmatched selection of easy to use, automatically updating and professional news widgets for their sites.
