The companies artificiallyfixed the price of thin-film transistor LCD panels from September 2001 to June2006.'Today's charges and criminal fines emphasise the commitment of the DoJ tocrack down on international cartels,' said attorney general Michael B Mukasey.The companies have been fined a total of $585m, including a payment of $400mby LG which is the second largest fine levied by the DoJ in its history.Sharp will pay $120m for fixing the prices it charged three majormanufacturers: Dell from April 2001 to December 2006 for use in computermonitors and laptops; Motorola from autumn

Lilly Makes Insulin Donation To International Diabetes Federation`s Life For A Child Program
Eli Lilly and Company today announced it intends to donate more than 800,000 vials of insulin to the International Diabetes Federation's Life for a Child Program, providing free life-saving medicine to as many as 24,000 children who currently have no access to diabetes treatment. In an article scheduled for publication in Theriogenology, An International Journal of Animal Reproduction, researchers from the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research, Berlin, Zoo Budapest and the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, report on the first live birth of a rhinoceros resulting from artificial insemination with frozen and thawed semen.
