Tim Lott finds outAlthough I am not depressed - I am merely someone who has experienced a depressing amount of depression - I have just completed eight weekly sessions of a cognitive behavioural therapy course, which is available on the NHS. Big deal, you might well remark. But this course is unusual because I didn't have to leave my desk or even talk to another human being. The therapy is administered entirely by a computer programme. FerragoWindstream to acquire D&E Communications (Telecompaper) US fixed network operator Windstream has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire regional fixed network operator D&E Communications in a transaction valued at approximately USD 330 million. D&E Communications shareholders will receive 0.650 shares of Windstream stock and USD 5 in cash per each D&E share under terms of the agreement approved by the board of directors of both companies. Windstream expects to issue approximately 9.5 million shares of stock valued at USD 86 million, based on the company's closing stock price on 8 May, and pay approximately USD 73 million in cash as part of the transaction. Windstream will also assume estimated net debt of approximately USD 171 million. Windstream intends to finance the acquisition with existing cash and current capacity on its revolving credit agreement. Windstream adds complementary rural properties in Pennsylvania under the transaction. The One Network already offers local pricing for voice and SMS, with no charges for incoming calls while roaming on another Zain network. Customers can also top-up using local country vouchers. The new data services include internet, e-mail, MMS, BlackBerry service and Zain portals, such as the recently launched Zain Create platform. The Middle East countries that benefit from this data service are Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Sudan, while in East Africa the countries are Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
