(Telecompaper) German pay-TV operator Premiere will launch a new pay TV service in July of this year, which will be called Sky and will replace the existing Premiere service at launch. The name change will be done in Austria and Germany. Subject to approval by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting, the name of the company will be changed from Premiere AG to Sky Deutschland AG. As a result of the decision by the Management Board with the approval of the Supervisory Board to discontinue the use of the Premiere brand, the value of the Premiere trademark will be written off in the second quarter of this year. The impact on net profit will be negative EUR 256.1 million, comprising the write-off of EUR 331.6 million offset by a release of deferred tax liabilities of EUR 75.5 million.
