Google CEO steps down from Apple board
(Telecompaper) Google CEO Eric Schmidt has resigned from Apple's board of directors. He joined the board in August 2006. Apple said the growing overlap in Apple's and Google's businesses - from mobile software to web browsers - has meant Schmidt was unable to attend an increasing number of board meetings due to conflicts of interest. As a result, the two decided mutually for Schmidt to resign.
