Apple Blurs the Server Line With Mac Mini Server
Toe, The writes 'Today Apple announced several new hardware offerings, including a new Mac mini, their (almost-literally) pint-sized desktop computer. In a bizarre twist, they are now also offering a Mac mini with Mac OS X Server bundled in, along with a two hard drives somehow stuffed into the tiny package. Undoubtedly, many in the IT community will scoff at the thought of calling such a device a 'server.' However, with the robust capabilities of Snow Leopard Server (a true, if highly GUI-fied, UNIX server), it seems likely to find a niche in small businesses and even enthusiasts' homes. The almost completely guided setup process means that people can set up relatively sophisticated services without the assistance of someone who actually knows what they are doing. Hadron collider: A very lucky universe
So ripples from the future are stymying the particle collider? It's more likely to be a multiverse thingIn a desperate attempt to explain why Cern's Large Hadron Collider has suffered a series of mishaps preventing it from commencing its search for the elusive Higgs Boson particle, respectable physicists have suggested (apparently in all seriousness) that nature abhors the Higgs so much that ripples from the future are travelling back in time to stop the Switzerland-based particle accelerator working.Reports of the emergence of these theories have prompted renewed contemplation of the 'granny paradox', which some think debunks the very idea of time travel. In this scenario, a time traveller goes into the past and inadvertently causes the death of his/her granny, before the traveller's parents are born. So the traveller never goes back in time, so granny doesn't die - and, well, so on. I have a much simpler explanation for the collider's plight. Its failure is related to

FBI adds gang member to Most Wanted list
Joe Saenz -- wanted in connection with four murders, a kidnapping and a rape -- had eluded authorities for so long, they thought he might be dead. But the emergence of a videotaped killing in California, they said, proved that he was still out there. Saenz is the newest addition to the FBI's Most Wanted list, after three fugitives on the list were recently caught.
