Decline In US Newspaper Readership Accelerates Hugh Pickens writes 'The Washington Post reports that US newspaper circulation has hit its lowest level in seven decades, as papers across the country lost 10.6 percent of their paying readers from April through September, compared with a year earlier. Accounts of the event initially indicated that sophisticated jamming technology was used to blind the radars. Last December, however, a report in an American technical publication, IEEE Spectrum, cited a European industry source in raising the possibility that the Israelis might have used a built-in kill switch to shut down the radars. Separately, an American semiconductor industry executive said in an interview that he had direct knowledge of the operation and that the technology for disabling the radars was supplied by Americans to the Israeli electronic intelligence agency, Unit 8200.'' of SlashdotKarzai`s brother said to be on CIA payroll Afghan President's brother, a suspected player in the country's opium trade, has been paid by the CIA over the past eight years, The New York Times reports The Globe and MailKarzai`s brother said to be on CIA payroll: report WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The brother of Afghan President Hamid Karzai has been getting regular payments from the Central Intelligence Agency, The New York Times reported on Tuesday, citing current and former U.S. officials.
