Dozens killed in Pakistan explosion
Dozens killed as terrorist strike in Peshawar coincides with visit to Islamabad by US secretary of stateThe deadliest Taliban bombing in two years ripped through a women's market in the Pakistani city of Peshawar today, killing almost 90 people.The attack happened as the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, began a three-day visit to Pakistan.The blast ripped through cosmetics stalls and clothes shops in Peshawar's old city, filling the narrow streets with burning debris and trapping dozens of victims under wreckage and charred roof beams. A two-storey building collapsed as firefighters doused it with water.Television footage showed wounded people sitting amid debris as others attempted to rescue survivors and get them to hospital.A spokesman for the Lady Reading hospital said it had received the bodies of 87 victims, many of them women and children. Provincial officials said over 200 people were injured.The city commissioner, Azam Khan, said the explosion was caused by a car bomb.

Google Maps Navigation Bolsters Android 2.0
Launched Oct. 28 as a free Google Maps feature for smartphones that will run the Google Android 2.0 build, Google Maps Navigation is a GPS navigation system that provides turn-by-turn voice guidance. The program uses the phone's Internet connection to fetch users the latest maps and business data. Features include the ability to search without knowing an address, search by voice and search any business along a route. Google envisions Maps Navigation as a differentiator to set Android 2.0-based smartphones apart from Apple's iPhone. There are also traffic, satellite and street views. Google details Maps Navigation for Android
Google today provided added details of the turn-by-turn mapping service found on the Motorola Droid. Google Maps Navigation adds many of the features that would normally exist in a dedicated GPS unit, such as a bird's-eye view and spoken directions, but takes advantage of Google's existing Maps features. Traffic is free in those areas where Google provides service, and Street View can show directions overlaid on top of in-location photos....
